A new running order has been announced by Chester Racecourse for the Boodles May Festival
The Festival will be held from Wednesday 9th to Friday 11th May
Last years Boodles May Festival at Chester Racecourse was a great success. The mix of competitive handicaps combined with the group races secured the Festival’s future all cheered on by enthusiastic crowds.
Wednesday 9th – City Day
City Day is a celebration of Chester’s heritage and community. Following the traditional curtain raiser of the Lily Agnes Stakes, the 100th running of the Chester Vase will take centre stage alongside the Cheshire Oaks.
Thursday 10th – Ladies Day
Ladies Day will feature competitive handicaps, group races and an enthusiastic stylish crowd. The Ormonde and Dee Stakes will be the feature races of the day.
Friday 11th – Chester Cup
The final day culminates with the highest profile race of them all, the Chester Cup. This will see the biggest crowd of the three day festival.
Chester’s Chief Executive, Richard Thomas, said:
The success story of this year’s Boodles May Festival really set the bar for 2018. We have implemented a number of changes to ensure momentum is kept across the three day programme and we deliver a spectacular experience for horsemen, racegoers and viewers alike. We’re pleased our 2017 partners felt the affinity with Chester valuable enough to renew their relationships for 2018 and look forward to working closely with them again to successfully deliver mutually beneficial partnerships into another new season on the Roodee.
