For the second year running Manchester Airport has been voted Britain’s Best Airport!
As Britains third largest airport after Heathrow and Gatwick, Manchester has beaten off some stiff competition. The votes came from travel agents, airlines and passengers. The award was presented to the Airport’s commercial director Stephen Turner and his team at a stunning ceremony at Grosvenor House in London by Dame Edna Everage.
This is on top of more fantastic news recently that Manchester Airport is bringing £60M in windfalls for 10 local councils. This is thanks to record numbers of passengers to the northern hub. Revenues rose by 10% to £738.4m over the last 12 months with profits to £283.6m.
Stephen Turner, commercial director for Manchester Airport, said:
We’re delighted to receive this fantastic award and would like to thank all the travel agents who voted for Manchester Airport.”
2015 has been an incredible year for the airport with record passenger numbers, the announcement of the transformation project and expansion by lots of our airlines.”
“Looking ahead, we have some very exciting new routes already confirmed to start in 2016, including Beijing with Hainan Airlines, plus Boston and Los Angeles with Thomas Cook Airlines. We’ll also be working hard to try and retain our crown for a third year.”
We have seen demand for our airport transfers to Manchester Airport increase considerably over the last 24 months. The usual spikes occur around holiday seasons including Christmas, Easter and summer. However when we look at our statistics we can see a sharp upward curve overall.
This has given us cause to increase our airport transfer capacity by adding and upgrading our fleet to cope with demand. We provide a round the clock luxury service to all our clients to and from all 3 terminals at the airport. We wish Manchester Airport continued success in the future, which can only be good news for all concerned.
